Neetu Kapoor Refuses A Kareena Kapoor Film

What ad honcho-turned-filmmaker, R Balki wants, R Balki gets. Not always though, it seems.
According to a source, the Paa director was recently turned down by Neetu Singh Kapoor, after a script narration of his under-production Ki And Ka, starring Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor.
It is learnt that the actress, who faces the movie camera only occasionally, felt that the role didn't have much for her to display her unquestionable acting chops. Hence, she politely refused the offer.
Presumably the retired actress Swaroop Sampat thought otherwise and has stepped into the role.
Neetu emerged from retirement (her last lead role was in in Ganga Meri Maa, circa 1983) with a cameo over two decades later with cameos in Love Aaj Kal and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. And there was the well-liked Do Dooni Chaar, of course, featuring her in the lead with husband Rishi.
However, after Besharam - starring her, Rishi and their son Ranbir - sank like the Titanic, she is being picky about her next project. Wise decision, indeed!
